Guess the Font
Three look-alike fonts, one right answer. How good is your eye?
How well do you know your fonts?
Guess the Font is a fast, endless typography game. Every round shows a short specimen set in one real web font, and you name it from three options pulled from the same category - so you are always choosing between genuine look-alikes, never obvious opposites. It is a playful way to sharpen your eye for the small details that separate one typeface from another.
How to play
- 1Read the specimen rendered in the preview window.
- 2Pick the matching font name from the three options.
- 3See the answer revealed in its own typeface, learn a quick fact, and move on - your streak keeps score.
Why train your eye for type?
Recognising typefaces is a real skill for designers, developers and brand owners. It helps you reverse-engineer a look you admire, choose fonts that pair well, and notice when a brand quietly changes its identity. Like any skill, it grows with practice - a few rounds a day add up fast.
A tip for spotting look-alikes
When two sans-serifs look identical, check the lowercase 'a' and 'g', the shape of the terminals, and how round the letters are. Serifs reveal themselves in the contrast between thick and thin strokes. Once you know where to look, the differences jump out.
